Savona Foodservice unveils £3 million London depot expansion
Savona Foodservice has officially opened its expanded London distribution depot.
The 50,000 sq ft site has given the wholesaler a larger, more efficient facility. At the heart of the £3 million expansion is a substantial increase in warehouse capacity, including over 2,000 additional freezer and chiller pallet spaces. This means greater product availability and the ability to offer a broader range of products.
The company has also introduced new racking systems and an upgraded warehouse layout.
“For our customers, the result is simple: more capacity behind the scenes, helping us deliver the reliable service they know and expect from Savona,” says a company spokesperson.
“The increased storage and improved infrastructure also strengthen our supply chain, giving us greater flexibility when demand increases and helping us respond more effectively during busy periods and changing market conditions.
“The expansion has also supported the launch of our new Culinary Collection, creating opportunities for further product development and innovation. By broadening our offering, we are attracting new customers across a wide range of sectors while continuing to provide greater choice and inspiration for existing customers.”
Savona Foodservice plans to introduce a development kitchen and dedicated meeting spaces at the London depot. Designed for both internal and external use, the new facilities will bring customers and suppliers together for training sessions, product development workshops and collaborative meetings.
In addition, as the business continues to grow, the expanded depot will create further opportunities for training, development and career progression.
Frank Bothwell owner and founder of long-standing customer Thomas Franks, cut the ribbon to open the expanded facility on 29 September.
Savona’s spokesperson commented: “We were proud to celebrate this milestone alongside our valued suppliers, loyal customers and long-standing partner, Country Range Group. We look forward to seeing the difference this investment will make for our customers, suppliers, colleagues and the wider community.”
