Lomond Wholesale launches Lomond Innovation Awards
Glasgow-based Lomond Wholesale has launched the Lomond Innovation Awards 2027.
It is inviting Scottish food and drink businesses to showcase innovative products and ideas, with the opportunity to win £2,500 and a package of practical support designed to help bring their products to the foodservice market.
Finalists will be invited to showcase their products to industry professionals at Taste of Lomond 2027, Lomond Wholesale’s annual foodservice trade show, which takes place at SEC Glasgow on 24–25 February 2027.
The launch comes as the family-owned wholesaler prepares to celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2027. Established in Glasgow in 1997, Lomond Wholesale has built strong relationships with producers and suppliers, helping to bring products to foodservice customers across Scotland and beyond.
Meghan Sievewright, procurement director at Lomond Wholesale, said: “Scotland has an incredible food and drink community, and we want the Lomond Innovation Awards to help shine a light on the products and ideas that could shape the future of our industry.
“As we celebrate 30 years of Lomond, it felt like the right time to create an opportunity that not only recognises innovation, but provides practical support to help businesses take their next step.”
The awards are open to emerging and established Scottish food and drink businesses with an innovative product or idea that has the potential to make an impact within the industry. Entries may demonstrate innovation and originality, sustainability, new technology or processes, health and nutrition, or strong commercial potential. Alcohol products are not eligible.
In addition to being presented with £2,500 cash and a trophy, the main prize winner will receive a six-month trial listing with Lomond Wholesale, professional photography and video content, six months of promotional support across flyers, website banners and social media, route-to-market and foodservice pricing guidance, and a complimentary stand at Taste of Lomond 2028.
Additional awards will recognise Sustainability and People’s Choice, providing further opportunities to celebrate businesses making a positive contribution to the sector.
Applications for the Lomond Innovation Awards 2027 are now open. Scottish food and drink businesses with an innovative product or idea are encouraged to apply online by 30 October 2026.
