Turner Price promotes Steve Potter to managing director

Yorkshire-based foodservice wholesaler Turner Price has appointed Steve Potter as managing director, following the retirement of Paul Brittain.

Effective from 1 July 2026, Potter (pictured) joined Turner Price in 2014 as operations manager and was appointed operations director and joined the board in 2024. Before that, he was operations manager at Alpine Fine Foods for nearly 10 years.

Commenting on his appointment, Potter said: “It is an honour to take on the role of managing director and to follow such a respected and successful leader as Paul.

“My focus will be on ensuring that Turner Price remains a trusted food partner for our customers across the UK and around the world, while continuing to invest in our people, infrastructure and capabilities to support our ambitious growth plans.

“We have an incredibly talented and committed team, and I look forward to working alongside our board of directors, senior management team and the Caterfood Buying Group as we continue to build on the company’s success.”

Brittain has been a member of the Turner Price leadership team for 24 years. Having served as finance director for more than two decades, he was appointed managing director in 2024 following the company’s move into the Caterfood Buying Group. Following his retirement, Brittain will continue to support the business in an advisory capacity, ensuring a smooth leadership transition.

Brittain commented: “Although it was a difficult decision, retirement will give me more time to spend with my family and enjoy some well-earned free time. Turner Price has been a huge part of my life for almost 24 years, and I will greatly miss our fantastic people and loyal customers.

“I have every confidence that Steve, together with the board and wider leadership team, will continue to drive Turner Price forward. The business has exciting plans for future investment, expansion and growth, and I look forward to watching and supporting its continued success.”

Turner Price operates from depots in East Yorkshire and County Durham, supplying more than 2,500 customers across the education, healthcare, hospitality and leisure sectors throughout the UK. The company also supplies the offshore industry from ports across the UK as well as exporting catering and British retail goods to clients across the globe.
