Girl’s fascination with Trevors delivery vans leads to special depot visit

A girl’s fascination with Trevors delivery vans has led to a special behind-the-scenes visit to the Fleetwood foodservice wholesaler.

Seven-year-old Marcy, who lives locally, has become a huge fan of the Trevors vans that she sees on the road and has developed quite a habit of looking out for them.

Her mum, Karen, recently contacted Trevors to explain just how excited Marcy gets whenever one of the company’s distinctive delivery vans passes her school.

According to Karen, Marcy knows where the Trevors vans are based and even asks her mum to drive past the depot at night so that she can say ‘goodnight’ to the vans.

She also spoke to Trevors driver Mike, who suggested that the company might be able to arrange a visit so Marcy could see inside one of the vans. Trevors was more than happy to oblige.

The family was invited to the company’s Fleetwood depot, where Marcy was given a behind-the-scenes tour of the operation.

She was amazed by the size of the warehouse and particularly fascinated by the company’s huge freezer, although her visit only extended as far as the doorway!

The highlight of the visit, however, was getting the chance to climb inside one of the Trevors delivery vans and sit in the driver’s seat.

And, naturally, Marcy was given the opportunity to do what she had been waiting for – beep the horn.

The Trevors team had one more surprise in store: they had made Marcy her very own Trevor’s high-vis jacket to take home. The gift proved to be a huge hit: Marcy wore it all night and even wore it to school the following day.

Mel Taylor, marketing & ecommerce manager at Trevors, said: “It was such a lovely email to receive. We spend our days seeing our vans heading out on deliveries and it’s easy to forget that, to a child, they can be something really exciting.

“When Marcy’s mum told us how excited she gets when she sees our vans, and that she even gets driven past the depot so she can say goodnight to them, we knew we had to invite her in.

“She was absolutely brilliant and clearly loved every minute of the visit.”
