Tayto wins Great Taste Award for REAL Roast Ox crisps variant

Tayto Group has announced that it has been awarded a 1-star Great Taste Award for its REAL Hand Cooked Roast Ox crisps.

Great Taste is recognised as a stamp of excellence among consumers and retailers alike.

Commenting on the Roast Ox variant, the judges said: “Deep golden fry with super crispy texture. No doubt that these crisps meet the umami cravings with their rich, meaty and yeasty flavour notes. Levels of salt are spot on to lift the earthiness delivered from the potato.”

The judges added: “The potato itself is fabulous and full of integrity. The crisp crunch as you bite in is tremendous – texturally spot on. We enjoyed the mix and level of spice – not too overpowering and humming along in the background, allowing the potato to sing. Outstanding, moreish and satisfying crisps!”

The premium REAL Hand Cooked Crisps range is gluten-free, with no added MSG, and the products are suitable for vegetarians, with six flavours suitable for vegans too.

Roast Ox isn’t the first award-winning flavour in the range – it already boasts Great Taste Awards for the Sea Salt, Sweet Chilli, Sea Salt & Malt Vinegar, and Jalapeno Pepper flavours.
