SWA promotes local sourcing at two wholesaler workshops

The Scottish Wholesale Association (SWA) is running wholesaler workshops on 26 and 29 October to promote its ‘Delivering Growth Through Wholesale’ local supply chain initiative.

The two half-day workshops (9am to 1pm) will consider why wholesalers should source locally, look at overcoming the barriers of engagement between wholesalers and producers, and detail the steps that wholesalers can take to capitalise on Scottish sourcing opportunities.

Delegates will also be given information on how to include local sourcing within their strategic business plans.

Following the workshops, one-to-one support will be available to help delegates turn their newly-gained knowledge about local sourcing into action.

The workshops, which are open to any wholesaler operating in Scotland, will take place over Zoom, and attendees must be able to commit to both sessions.

Applications for places are via https://fs22.formsite.com/scotfooddrink/kwgil6weeo/index.html and close on 18 October.

The ‘Delivering Growth through Wholesale’ programme is run by the SWA in partnership with the Scottish Agricultural Organisation Society (SAOS) and Scotland Food & Drink.
