Sugro UK announces member and supplier awards

Sugro UK announced its member and supplier awards at its annual conference and trade show in Liverpool.

Peter Youings, proprietor of Youings Wholesale, with the trophy for Retail Member of the Year.

Youings Wholesale was named as the winner in the Retail Member of the Year category.

Other winners among the group’s wholesaler members were:

Environmental & Sustainability Award: Morris & Son

Digital Innovation Award: R&I Jones

Specialist Wholesale Award: Forrest Fresh Foods

Community Champion Award: R A Trading

Rising Star Award: Nasco UK

In the supplier awards, Samantha Talbot of AG Barr was crowned Soft Drinks Supplier of the Year.

Other supplier winners were:

Confectionery Supplier of the Year: Fred Marshall, Nestle UK

Crisps & Snacks Supplier of the Year: Adam Gibbons, KP Snacks

Grocery Supplier of the Year: Rob Craven, Premier Foods

Product of the Year: Cadbury Twirl Caramel, Mondelez International

Sugro head of marketing & commercial Yulia Petitt commented: “The trade show was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the group with our members and supply partners. Well done to the winners of the awards!”

In other news, Sugro member Forrest Fresh Foods is now offering central distribution services to Sugro members for Mars products.

This means that members who were previously unable to open direct accounts or meet minimum order quantities can now place orders for Mars products through Forrest Fresh Foods and enjoy the same pricing and promotional programme offered through Sugro.

Rochdale-based Forrest Fresh Foods operates from three central distribution sites: Northumberland, Greater Manchester and London.

Sugro managing director Emma Senior said: “We continue to strive to seek solutions for our total membership and this is a welcome addition to the services that Sugro offers.”
