Parfetts staff celebrate EO Day and are awarded a 4% sales growth bonus
Employees across the Parfetts depot network celebrated EO (Employee Ownership) Day on 23 June.
EO Day provides an opportunity for UK-owned businesses to celebrate and raise awareness of the benefits of employee ownership.
Staff in Parfetts’ eight branches enjoyed music, free pizza and fun activities to mark the occasion. Parfetts has been an employee-owned business since 2018, and the staff have a say in the direction of the business through an employee voice council in each depot.
As part of the EO Day celebrations, Parfetts announced that the sales growth bonus in July will be 4%. Parfetts employees enjoy a regular sales growth bonus paid in July and a profit share bonus paid in October.
Guy Swindell, joint managing director of Parfetts, said: “EO Day provides a fantastic opportunity for everyone to come together and remind ourselves what makes Parfetts special. Employee ownership gives us the freedom to go the extra mile for our customers and be kind to each other. Everyone in the business has a say in the future of Parfetts, and we believe that it sets us apart from competitors.”
In March, Parfetts announced an extraordinary pay rise of 7.5% for salaried staff to help them manage the rising cost of living and an increase of 9.6% to hourly rates for weekly paid employees.
Staff also benefited from an extra day of paid holiday, and colleagues can take additional unpaid holidays to a maximum allowance of 38 days for full-time staff.
Parfetts is the 28th largest employee-owned company in the UK. The top 50 largest employee-owned companies account for £23.1 billionn in sales and employ over 181,000 people.
