One Stop expands bakery range with own-brand and local lines

Following an expansion of its fresh range, One Stop has launched 16 new bakery, bread and cake lines.

The additions include Simply Doughnuts Mini Ring Bites 8s for £1.50, One Stop Cinnamon Buns two-pack for £1.80, Tesco Raspberry Sponge for £1.60 and a Tesco Chocolate Tray Bake for £7.

Customers can take advantage of a ‘2 for £4’ offer on a selection of the new products, including One Stop Chocolate Cornflake Clusters 15s, One Stop Flapjack Bites 20s, One Stop Mini Chocolate Chip Muffins 16s and One Stop Millionaire Bites 22s.

“Our team has been working hard to curate a refreshed selection of tasty bite-sized treats, perfect for picnics and sharing. Our new lines are at affordable prices and will no doubt elevate those upcoming gatherings!”  commented Henry Maulik, head of product at One Stop.

Alongside the main expansion of bakery lines, the convenience retailer will be working with local bakeries such as Roses The Bakers (Sheffield), Luke Evans Bakery (Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire), John Dwyer Bakery (Leicestershire) and Brace’s Bakery (Wales).

There will be a total of 17 new products from the local bakeries, offering customers in specific areas more localised treats such as a Roses Artisan Sourdough for £2.25, Luke Evans Bobbys Foot 400g for £1.55, Dwyer 4 Jam Donuts for £1.65 and Brace’s Moltid Bloomer 400g for £1.30.

Maulik said: “Working with local businesses in the area to offer our customers a range of baked goods reinforces our commitment to providing the communities we serve with exactly what they want and need.”

In other news, One Stop’s ‘Summer of Sport’ campaign is running across all UK company and franchise stores until 23 July.

The campaign will be backed by a 360 marketing campaign including store takeovers with PoS. This year, the convenience retailer has also introduced a ‘Gold Tier’ where suppliers can opt to be part of a more premium marketing package.

Becoming a ‘Gold Supplier’ means Heineken and Pepsi/Walkers will benefit from further brand awareness for their weekly deal products as they will become the sole sponsors of One Stop’s online games for four weeks each (Pepsi and Walkers will be combined). The brands will also get dedicated, branded store space for their product for the full summer period.

Alongside the deals, One Stop will be hosting interactive games with an aim to increasing footfall and capturing new customers. Customers will also have the chance to pick-up instant-win vouchers, which need to be redeemed in-store via a barcode sent to their phone.
