Fairway Foodservice has brought its number of member wholesalers to 18 by adding A to Z Catering, which operates from a 40,000 sq ft depot in Hornsey, north London.

The company, which largely serves the fast-food trade, has enjoyed steady growth in recent years supplying the wider foodservice industry. Customers of the £27 million-plus business include schools, theme parks and hotels.

Owner and managing director Hifsi Ayranciogiu said: “Joining Fairway is a key part of developing our foodservice offering. We have a solid base of customers throughout Greater London and the south-east, going as far west as Poole and Oxford and far north to Cambridge.”

He added that A to Z Catering plans to set up a dedicated foodservice team under a new foodservice sales manager. It currently has a staff of 120, most of whom have been with the wholesaler for more than 10 years.

The group’s turnover last year was £626 million.
