Nisa charity helps community groups become World Cup winners
With the World Cup well underway, Nisa’s Making a Difference Locally (MADL) charity is celebrating the football with a ‘Sports in the Community’ giveaway.
Nisa retailers nominated sports clubs in the communities where they are based to be in with a chance of a charitable donation for them to purchase new kit and equipment.
A total of 32 sports clubs representing all 32 countries in the World Cup tournament were randomly selected and each will now receive a donation of £1,000 via their local Nisa retailer.
Each of the nominated clubs was also matched to a World Cup team in a sweepstake, with a further donation of £2,500 awarded to the club whose football team wins the tournament and £1,500 for those coming in second, third or fourth place.
Helen Walker, marketing manager for MADL, said: “We wanted our retailers and their customers to join in the excitement of the World Cup this winter and thought ‘Sports in the Community’ was a fitting way of getting everyone interested.
“The nominations were made by Nisa retailers, and we used all our available channels to encourage shoppers to get involved and ask in their local store for support for their teams.
“We were really pleased with the response and to see such a wide array of grassroots, inclusive sports teams and clubs benefiting.”
