Mars Chocolate has extended its range with the launch of Galaxy Crispy. The product is available in 102g bars, 24 to a case, and has an rsp of £1.39.
“Here at Mars Chocolate, we know that crispy textures are now in 19% value growth (Nielsen),” says Bep Dhaliwal, trade communications manager. “Galaxy Crispy is perfect for treating occasions.”
This latest addition follows the success of Galaxy Salted Caramel, which delivered £5.4 million into the block chocolate category last year. The launch of the new line is supported by Galaxy’s £12 media investment and TV advertising campaign, as well as in-store PoS solutions.
Mars Chocolate is also celebrating this year’s Olympic Games with the launch of limited-edition M&M’s Rio Colourmix. Bags containing only green, yellow and blue M&M’s in Peanut and Chocolate variants are offered in single and sharing formats. Lines include a 45g bag, 100g treat bag and 165g pouch (rsps 60p, £1.19 and £2.09 respectively).
“Around 90% of the population is expected to tune into the Games on TV, and with chocolate being the second-biggest snacking category during the sporting event, there is a great opportunity for retailers to tap into the strong demand,” says Dhaliwal.
The launch is backed with a range of PoS materials including pre-filled hod display units, dumpbins, toppers and countertop units, and pallet wraps for cash & carries.
M&M’s is the fastest-growing chocolate brand (Nielsen), and is supported this year by an £8.5 million media investment.
