NBC seeks new member director as Stuart Lane relinquishes formal ties

Stuart Lane, one of the founding members of National Buying Consortium (NBC) and its first chairman, is standing down as a director. This follows the sale of his business, Lansdell Soft Drinks, to Chapple & Jenkins in April 2023.

“We are privileged to have been able to have Stuart on our side and in those first formative years,” commented NBC chairman David Longfellow. “We are in a much better place having had his leadership and guidance available to anyone that needed it.”

Lane added: “It has been a tremendous pleasure to have been involved and working with a group of businesses that have the same values and principles. Whilst we have had many challenges during our journey, including the pandemic, the group has gone from strength to strength, and the leadership team that has evolved over such a short period of time has ensured that the group is now well positioned for the future. That allows me to focus my own personal time and attention to new challenges.

“I wish everyone at NBC good fortune and I advise them to stick to the original foundations of the business that has made it the success that it is.”

NBC is now seeking applications from the NBC membership to take on the role of member director.
