Mondelez launches Cadbury Dairy Milk Strawberries & Creme Frappe bar

Mondelez International has introduced a limited-edition Cadbury Dairy Milk Strawberries & Creme Frappe flavour this summer.

Inspired by chilled summer drinks and seasonal flavour trends, the bar aims to drive incremental chocolate sales during the warmer months as the product is best served chilled.

The release follows the success of last year’s limited-edition Cadbury’s Iced Latte launch, which tapped into the ‘fridge vs cupboard’ debate around how consumers enjoy their chocolate during the warmer months.

New research shows over two-thirds (69%) of people now chill their chocolate during summer, and that strawberry ranks as the No.2 summer flavour after caramel (Perspectus Global).

With 68.6% of retailers saying NPD helps drive sales when stocked alongside the core range, innovation continues to play a key role within the confectionery category.

Cadbury Dairy Milk Strawberries & Creme Frappe is available in a 115g PMP for £1.75, with non-pirce-marked packs also available.

Michael Moore, marketing manager Cadbury, at Mondelez International, says: “Seasonal innovation plays an important role in keeping the chocolate category exciting and relevant for shoppers year-round.

“This summer, our limited-edition Cadbury Dairy Milk Strawberries & Creme Frappe flavour taps into shoppers’ appetite for refreshing flavours, like strawberry, and the ongoing debate of putting your favourite chocolate in the fridge to enjoy it chilled.”
