Management changes at Palmer & Harvey retail business

Steve Wilkinson, former managing director of Palmer & Harvey subsidiary WS Retail (Central Stores), and Tony Start, who was commercial director, are to leave the business with effect from 10 October.

Andy Davis (pictured) will replace Steve Wilkinson.

Andy Davis, ex-trading director of BP, will replace Wilkinson in the role of chief convenience officer. Davis started his career with Sainsbury’s before moving to c-store chain Circle K, where he became buying director. He joined BP as trading director in 2003 and was later appointed head of European trading.

Palmer & Harvey’s CEO Tony Reed said: “Steve and Tony have made a great contribution to WS Retail. They have built a strong legacy, with Central Stores becoming the UK’s fastest growing convenience store chain under their leadership. They depart with our very best wishes.”

WS Retail, formed in 2011, operates in the south and has a turnover of around £54 million.

Two of the directors named on a third-party website are Chris Etherington, who recently left P&H after several years as CEO, and Jonathan Moxon, who quit the delivered wholesaler as finance director.
