Kitwave Wholesale strengthens its finance team

Kitwave Wholesale Group, an independent business with 27 depots throughout the UK, has strengthened its finance team.

The North Shields-based delivered wholesaler has appointed Mark Earl as group financial controller, while Laura Wilson-Bell is his replacement as finance director at the group’s chilled and frozen operator Eden Farm.

Group chief financial officer David Brind said: “Mark has a great understanding of our business and operations having worked at Eden Farm for a number of years. Kitwave has a philosophy of ensuring we give our loyal employees a chance to grow with the business and Mark’s move to group financial controller is credit to his hard work. The Group continues to grow and Mark will make a great contribution to that future growth.”

Meanwhile, Wilson-Bell joins Eden Farm from Pentland Brands, where she was senior business partner.

Eden Farm managing director Ben Maxted said: “Laura joins the business at a time of great opportunity. The frozen market in the UK continues to grow and our service levels remain industry leading. Financial control behind this is paramount, and Laura’s focus on operations as well as the core principles of wholesale will stand her in good stead. “

Brind added: “In a year that no one could have predicted, wholesalers across the county have had significant challenges to manage. Kitwave and our group companies have risen to this task, working closely with our brand partners with the aim of looking after our employees and our customers alike. Mark and Laura’s appointments come at a time when we can look forward to 2021 with a positive outlook despite the ongoing uncertainty around the pandemic.”
