Kitwave installs defibrillators at all 30 of its sites

Kitwave Group has installed defibrillators at all 30 of its sites to safeguard the health, safety and welfare of its 1,400 employees across the group.

All the devices are registered on ‘The Circuit’, which is a national network that maps defibrillators across the UK, connecting them automatically to ambulance services so that they can be accessed quickly to help save lives.

The initiative builds on the group’s work with the British Heart Foundation – David Brind, Kitwave’s chief financial officer, helped establish the Heart of the Tyne campaign to improve awareness of heart health across the local business community.

Tom Johnson, health & safety director of Kitwave, said: “There are over 30,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests every year in the UK, and currently less than 10% of people survive them.

“Given Kitwave’s strong ties with the British Heart Foundation, we are proud to have rolled out these life-saving defibrillators across all our sites.”
