JJ Foodservice partners with Hertfordshire Council to offer discount

JJ Foodservice has teamed up with Hertfordshire County Council to provide discounted healthier and more sustainable catering options to local restaurants and caterers.

The discounted range includes JJ’s MSC certified cod fillets.

This partnership supports the council’s new Herts Responsible Food Award (HRFA), which encourages food businesses to adopt healthier and more sustainable practices.

JJ Foodservice is offering a 10% discount on the first three orders to new customers or those who haven’t shopped with the wholesaler in the last 12 months.

The discount applies to a range of health-focused and eco-friendly products, including polyunsaturated or monounsaturated fat or oil products; products without trans fatty acids; reduced sugar and salt content products; eco-friendly packaging; responsibly caught fish; free-range or organic eggs; and gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options.

Baris Kacar, chief sales officer of JJ Foodservice, said: “We are thrilled to partner with Hertfordshire County Council to support local food businesses in offering healthier and more sustainable options.

“This initiative aligns with our commitment to sustainability and to have a positive impact on people, communities and the environment that we work in.”

The Herts Sustainable Food award has been developed by Hertfordshire County Council in partnership with Broxbourne Borough Council, and for the first year will be available exclusively to Broxbourne-based food businesses. Thereafter, the aim is to expand the project across Hertfordshire.
