JJ Foodservice launches Healthier Catering microsite with 10% discount

JJ Foodservice has launched a new Healthier Catering microsite, designed to make it easier for restaurants to choose healthier, local and more sustainable ingredients for menus.

To help promote the site and encourage uptake, JJ has partnered with the Healthier Catering Commitment (HCC) for London to offer a 10% discount on selected products in the range for eligible HCC Award holders.

The new Healthier Catering site includes wholemeal and high-fibre products, vegetarian and vegan options, grains and pulses, MSC-certified and locally sourced fish, Omega-3 rich seafood, free-from alternatives, healthier cooking oils, and eco-friendly packaging.

Baris Kacar, chief sales officer at JJ Foodservice, said: “We want to make it easier for businesses to choose nutritious, local, and fresh options – that’s why we’ve put them all in one place. We’re excited to partner with the HCC to promote these products to restaurants and caterers in London.”

The Healthier Catering Commitment London plays a role in tackling obesity across the capital by supporting food businesses to offer healthier options to their customers.

Alice Bimpong, public health programmes lead for Tower Hamlets, said: This initiative represents an important partnership with high-street food providers, including fast-food takeaways, restaurants, and cafés. It provides a valuable opportunity for businesses to receive guidance, increased visibility, and formal recognition for their efforts to prepare and serve food with reduced levels of sugar, salt and fat.”

Marie-Claire Irvine, manager at the Association of London Environmental Health Managers (ALEHM), said: “By supporting businesses accredited through the HCC, JJ Foodservice is helping to make healthier choices more accessible and affordable.”
