JJ Foodservice drivers complete HGV Skills Bootcamp training

JJ Foodservice drivers Levente Deak and Marian-Vasile Nastase have completed HGV Skills Bootcamp training.

Marian-Vasile Nastase: ‘Working my way up to be a fully qualified driver is amazing.’

Gaining the new HGV Class 2 licence will enable the drivers to progress from driving 3.5-tonne vehicles to 7.5-tonne and up to 32-tonne lorries.

The wholesaler’s HR Manager Joanna Florczak commented: “Both drivers are great team players, brilliant role models and passed their exams with flying colours. Huge congratulations to both Marian and Levente for their excellent results.”

Deak joined JJ Foodservice in 2016, driving a 3.5-tonne van before being promoted to delivery administrator, while Nastase started at the wholesaler as a helper.

“For me, this is life changing,” commented Nastase. “Working my way up to be a fully qualified driver is amazing – I’m really grateful to have had the opportunity.”

Both drivers will celebrate their achievements at the Federation of Wholesale Distributors’ Star Awards, to be held at the Houses of Parliament in April.

The HGV Skills Bootcamp is a government-subsidised initiative.
