Swizzels has launched a new hanging bag product, Great British Puds.
The packs feature a ‘brightly-coloured, British design’, with a clear flash on the front to show that the product is suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
Available for the C&C/wholesale channel in £1 PMPs, Great British Puds is the idea of a fan who won the opportunity to bring her creation to life with Swizzels’ 90th anniversary ‘Sweetest Invention’ competition. Non-PMP 150g bags are also available, with an rsp of £1.29.
Jeremy Dee, managing director of Swizzels, said: ‘‘Our mission remains to be leading the way with new, ingenious sweet inventions, so involving our dedicated fans in this process and receiving their creative ideas is a great way to achieve this.
‘‘Great British Puds is our biggest launch for 2020 and we are confident it will contribute to the exponential growth we are experiencing across chew bars and hanging bags.’’
Tracy-Jane Fielding, inventor of Great British Puds, added: ‘‘I’ve been a fan of Swizzels for as long as I can remember, so having the opportunity to put my own sweet ideas forward to the team was a privilege. The inspiration for my invention came from years of experience working in restaurants and my observations that classic British desserts continue to be hugely popular. It has been a pleasure to be part of the full development process and I am delighted with the finished result.’’
