Fairway launches first-ever own-brand coffee range

Fairway Foodservice has launched its first-ever own-brand coffee range.

Available from September, the new range includes one Fairway Assured product and three Fairway Excellence products, all in 1kg bags, and is supported by a range of promotional activities and a partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support.

There are four different coffee bean varieties: Fairway Assured Espresso Coffee Beans plus Fairway Excellence 100% Arabica Brazilian Whole Bean Coffee, Colombian Coffee Beans, and Fairtrade Barista Coffee Beans.

“The launch of our own-label coffee range has been highly anticipated,” says Adam Williamson, purchasing manager at Fairway Foodservice. “The desire for premium coffee continues to rise, not just in independent coffee shops, forcing hotels, pubs and restaurants to ensure they also have high-end coffee available.

“The latest statistics show that over 70% of coffee purchases are roast coffee outside of the home, and we believe there’s a gap in the market for fairly priced, high-quality coffee (Lavazza Professional). In addition to this, adding great coffee to our range helps us to strengthen our one-stop-shop offering for customers.”

Ideal for bean-to-cup machines and roasted in the Italian style, the coffee beans are said to offer spicy and smoky notes with dark chocolate undertones, delivering a strong, caffeine-rich espresso that cuts through milk even in small doses.

As a long-term supporter of Macmillan, Fairway is donating 10p for every bag of Fairway Assured Espresso Coffee Beans sold during September. Fairway will also be hosting its own Macmillan Coffee Morning at its head office to raise money for the charity and will be encouraging customers to do the same.
