Elite Fine Foods launches New Yorker Bagels in UK

Elite Fine Foods, which is part of Caterfood Buying Group (CFBG), has launched New Yorker Bagels in the UK for the first time.

Currently exclusive to Elite Fine Foods, the range will soon be made available to all eight CFBG members.

Based in New York City, New Yorker Bagels is the largest fresh bagel bakery in the world, baking over 500,000 bagels a day and delivering them to every state in the US.

There are seven varieties – Everything Bagel, Sesame Bagel, Apple Cinnamon Raisin Bagel, French Toast Bagel, Plain Bagel, Poppy Bagel and Onion Bagel – with 72 frozen 115g bagels in each wholesale case.

Gavin Scott, business development director at CFBG who has worked closely with Elite Fine Foods to launch the new range, said: “These bagels really are just exquisite and there’s nothing like them currently available in the UK in terms of their quality, which is why we’re really excited to be launching them as a key part of our NPD push.

“They’re the real deal and much bigger in size than other brands at 115g each. These bagels are completely authentic: baked by the professionals in Queens, New York City, in the traditional way, where the softness of the water is the key to making a proper New York bagel! They are frozen straight away, taste amazing and are really versatile.

“A key part of our new Elevate range, which showcases more than 40 different brands, we’ve aimed to create an exceptional portfolio of NPD which is targeted at cafès, delis and restaurants, for operators who want something really different to help them stand out.
