Dry Drinker launches wholesale site for alcohol-free drinks

Dry Drinker, Britain’s leading retailer for alcohol-free drinks, has moved into wholesaling,

The company has launched a new trade-focused site and is offering next-day delivery on orders placed before 5pm.

Explaining why the company has expanded into wholesale, owner Stuart Elkington said: “I’ve seen how consumer preference has changed. People now expect alcohol-free choices and yet, very often, there isn’t the choice available in cafés, bars, restaurants, clubs, etc. On the other hand we’ve had many independent trade establishments contacting us because they want to offer better, more interesting alcohol-free alternatives but they don’t know where to start.

“We already have the supply chain in place and can handle orders no matter how large or small – so opening up the business in this direction is a natural progression for us.

Dry Drinker stocks more than 200 lines, including quality beers, critically acclaimed wines, premium sparkling wines, spirits, RTD cocktails and ciders, that have already been given the ‘thumbs up’ by its existing customer base.

The company claims that its business model is quick and user-friendly, with a huge emphasis on customer service. It delivers six days a week up to 5 pm, adopts a ‘no minimum or maximum order’ philosophy, and has an ‘order more – pay less’ scheme in place – trade orders of over £150 can be paid across four payments. In addition, customers signing up to Dry Drinker’s newsletter get 10% off their next order.

Low and no-alcohol options now make up 1.3% of the total beverage alcohol market in the UK.

“The last year has been one hell of a journey but it was really interesting to see how so many people opted to drink less. The trade will need to keep up with the shift once it fully reopens,” said Elkington. “We’re really looking forward to working more with the trade side of hospitality to share our knowledge and showcase just how innovative the no and low sector has become.”
