Darren Goldney, former managing director of Today’s Group, has been appointed the new MD of Unitas Wholesale, the group formed by merging Today’s with Landmark. His counterpart at Landmark, John Mills, is the new deputy managing director.
Sam Wilcox, managing director of Blakemore, will become chairman and Simon Hannah, managing director of JW Filshill, deputy chairman.
Wilcox commented: “Darren and John have worked hard and collaboratively over recent months to cut through previous organisational differences and focus on the vision and strategy that will work for both groups’ members and suppliers in the long term. Their complementary range of skills will be vital to drive our development agenda and bring the great experiences of both organisations together to form a new one.”
The rest of the management executive comprises: Andrew Thewlis (finance director), John Baines (trading director) and John Kinney (retail director). Wilcox said: “All three bring fabulous experience, knowledge and skills and, above all, they possess the determination to make Unitas a huge success.”
