Darren Goldney appointed managing director of Today’s Group

Today’s Group has announced the appointment of Darren Goldney (pictured), formerly commercial director of Palmer and Harvey, as managing director with effect from 13 November.

Before joining Palmer and Harvey in May 2015, Goldney was commercial director at Whitworths. However, he is best known for a 21-year stint at Coca-Cola Enterprises, where he was latterly sales & customer development director responsible for the impulse and route-to-market channels.

In his new role at Today’s, Goldney replaces John Schofield, who has served as interim MD for the past two years. As was always the plan, Schofield will return to his former post of finance director.

Today’s Group chairman Simon Hannah, who is managing director of JW Filshill, commented: “In a changing wholesale environment, Darren brings experience and a track record of success through collaboration, from his tenure with both large and smaller organisations in Coca-Cola European Partners and Whitworths Ltd, and more latterly in a major national wholesale organisation, Palmer and Harvey, serving all customer types. The Today’s board is very much looking forward to welcoming Darren to the Group.”
