Country Range Group seeks a chairman

Country Range Group is recruiting a chairman.

The foodservice buying and marketing group, whose members have a combined turnover of £600 million, is looking for an executive who is “free from any interest and any business or other relationship” that could interfere with their independent judgement.

The chairman’s primary role is to ensure that the board is effective in its task of setting and implementing the company’s direction and strategy, and will act as a direct liaison between the board and CRG’s managing director, Coral Rose.

In addition to Rose and CRG’s trading director Martin Ward, the current directors of the group are Justin Birchall, MD of Birchall Foodservice; Philip de Ternant, MD of Creed Foodservice; Cathal Geoghegan, MD of Henderson Foodservice; Justin Godfrey, group MD of Thomas Ridley Foodservice; John Gould, MD of Turner Price; Ken Knowland, chairman of Savona Foodservice; Jim Rowan of Dunns Food and Drinks; and Richard Strongman, MD of Harvest Fine Foods.

Details of the role, which is part-time, can be seen here:
