Confex Foodservice Fair attracts more than 200 people

More than 200 people attended Confex’s Foodservice Fair held at Stratford-upon-Avon earlier this month.

A total of 75 suppliers had stands, and Confex also showcased its Core own-brand range.

“What a fantastic day we had for our third Foodservice Fair at Stratford Racecourse,” commented the group’s chief operating officer Jess Douglas. “There was a huge buzz in the air, a brilliant and diverse range of products on display from all our supporting suppliers, and member engagement was high throughout the day.

“Thank you to all of the Confex team for their hard work and all that attended, making sure this is now a firm entry in the Confex events annual diary.”

Chris Morgan, managing director of Confex member Waterside Food Services, added: “This year’s Confex Foodservice Fair was really insightful. There was some fantastic showcasing of new lines and fantastic deals on the day that as wholesalers we can take great advantage of.

“It was a well-organised show and a great effort by all of the team at Confex, along with the suppliers.”

Andrew Kirby, commercial director at Holland Bazaar, added: “With reference to the Confex Foodservice Fair, one word comes to mind, ‘Excellent’.

“Jess, Tom and the Confex team did a marvellous job. From a Holland Bazaar point of view, we were able to do a great amount of networking with both suppliers and other members. We also managed to take advantage of some great foodservice deals, along with getting to meet new suppliers and sample new products to the market.

“The organisation of the entire event was second to none. From a business cost perspective, it has been really beneficial – getting to meet so many suppliers under one roof and being able to get great prices or resolve any trading issues is priceless to the team at Holland Bazaar. A great event held by a great buying group, can’t wait for the next event.”

In addition to the trade show, the event included a foodservice committee meeting to discuss progress and future plans, and the launch of the Confex Accelerate programme.

Through a strategic partnership with Cerve, Confex Accelerate will offer a range of digital solutions to the group’s members. Douglas explained: “Confex Accelerate will provide better access to supplier information, improved communication on orders and faster rebates.”
