Clegg’s Chilled Food Service joins Sterling Supergroup
Lancashire-based Clegg’s Chilled Food Service has joined Sterling Supergroup.
The chilled and ambient wholesaler, located in Longridge, was founded in 1984 by Mark Clegg and acquired by two of his children, Richard Clegg and Lucy Ross, in January 2025.
The company was originally a cheese business, supplying Lancashire cheese to local markets. Dairy remains a speciality within the business but the range is growing quickly, with more ambient lines joining the offering. In addition, Clegg’s is planning to add some frozen capacity in the near future.
Richard Clegg, managing director of Clegg’s Chilled Food Service, said: “We are looking forward to getting stuck in and really feeling part of the group. We hope to learn from current members and share our chilled expertise, as we continue on our journey of growth.”
Daniel Larkin, chief commercial officer of Sterling Supergroup, said: “We’re really happy to welcome Clegg’s and their team to Sterling Supergroup.
Clegg’s embody everything Sterling stands for: authentic, hard-working, and deeply community focused. That shared commitment to community is exactly what drew Clegg’s to Sterling Supergroup and makes this partnership such a strong fit.”
