CJ Lang appoints Josie Cattermoul as trading director
SPAR Scotland wholesaler and retailer CJ Lang & Son has appointed Josie Cattermoul as trading director. She replaces Della Myers, who has left the business.
Cattermoul (pictured) brings more than 15 years of trading and commercial experience across convenience retail, wholesale and food retailing in Australia, New Zealand, and the UK, with a strong reputation for supplier-led growth and disciplined category strategy.
Her previous roles have included head of trading at fellow SPAR wholesaler James Hall & Co and senior buying manager at Iceland Foods. Her most recent position was general manager – merchandising & marketing at Tasmanian Independent Retailers.
In her new role, Cattermoul will lead trading across buying, range, promotions and supplier partnerships, with responsibility for strengthening the SPAR Scotland proposition and driving profitable growth across both SPAR independent and SPAR Scotland company-owned stores.
Her priorities include building deeper, more collaborative supplier partnerships, increasing the focus on local Scottish sourcing, and embedding joint business planning across key categories to improve availability, value, and execution across the SPAR Scotland estate.
Colin McLean, chief executive officer of CJ Lang & Son, said: “Josie brings exactly the blend of trading expertise and collaborative leadership we need for the next phase of SPAR Scotland’s growth. Her experience, alongside her focus on partnership and data-led category strategy, will be instrumental in strengthening our offer for both retailers and customers.”
