CJ Lang and Son has again received a RoSPA President’s Health and Safety Award for demonstrating high standards across the business.
Organisations receiving a RoSPA Award are recognised as being world leaders in health and safety practice. Every year, nearly 2,000 entrants vie for the awards.
CJ Lang’s operations director Brian Straiton said: “We have been dedicated to improving our health and safety culture across our business, ensuring CJ Lang remains a safe environment for all our colleagues and customers.
“Throughout the journey, the key turning points were the development of our SharePoint system, the introduction of on-site health and safety audits and improvements in safety culture. SharePoint made us stand out as pioneers of modern health and safety management. We brought health and safety tasks to an electronic format, and this gave more transparency and efficiency to health and safety due diligence. To complement this, the health and safety team introduced a much more personal on-site health and safety audit, giving our colleagues invaluable support on how to manage their own health and safety responsibilities.”
Distribution director Colin Chapman added: “In our distribution centre we have taken great strides to improve our health and safety culture through improved safety observation, awareness and training for our colleagues.
“Given the additional health and safety challenges we have overcome throughout the pandemic, it’s amazing to be recognised for these efforts in such a prestigious way.”Published Date: August 17, 2022
