Charles Wilson calls Barcode Festival the ‘must-attend’ grocery event

Ticket sales for GroceryAid’s Barcode Festival have already surpassed any previous event held by the charity.

The festival (www.barcodefestival.co.uk), which takes place on 28 June at Hawker House, Canada Water, London, is set to attract more than 1,200 grocery industry employees. Bestway, Booker and Tesco are among the sponsors.

Charles Wilson, CEO of Tesco UK & ROI, commented: “Barcode really is the must-attend grocery event of the summer, bringing the whole industry together to celebrate mid-summer with amazing food and drink and brilliant headliners, and all while raising money to help our colleagues in need.”

Headline acts include Kaiser Chiefs, Sigma, Greg James and Levi Roots with his Reggae Reggae band, and there will also be a variety of street food and bars.

“With still more surprises to come, Barcode will bring together colleagues from shop floor to CEO,” says a spokesperson for the charity. “This unique event will enable a whole a new generation to engage with the work of GroceryAid and network with colleagues while kicking back and having some fun.”
