Llanelli-based Castell Howell Foods has appointed British Lions rugby star Jac Morgan as the new ambassador for its Welsh beef brand, Celtic Pride Premium Welsh Beef.

“I’m so very proud to be associated with a quality Welsh beef brand that promotes all that is good about Welsh farming and the wider Welsh food sector,” said Morgan.

Established in 2003, Celtic Pride Beef has championed the superior quality of Welsh beef for more than two decades. It also prides itself on setting the highest standards for beef farming, including quality, traceability, animal welfare and reducing food miles by using a network of local farmers and abattoirs.

As part of the Castell Howell Foods group, Celtic Pride beef is delivered across Wales, the border counties and south-west England.

“Our roots are firmly in farming and we proudly support Welsh farmers throughout our foodservice supply chain,” said Brian Jones, founder and chairman of Castell Howell Foods, a Caterforce member.

“We are delighted that Jac has agreed to be our new brand ambassador. His talent on the rugby field, as one of Europe’s finest players, fully aligns with our continued journey of working with skilled farmers and processors to be the finest meat brand in our field.”

Morgan recently featured on Cefn Gwlad: Brian Castell Howell on S4C which followed Brian as the founder of the Castell Howell Foods business and went back to his boyhood roots.
