Booker launches Chicken Kitchen range of 50 chicken products and accompaniments

Booker has launched Chicken Kitchen, bringing together fresh and frozen chicken, as well as frozen cooked chicken, with the buns, sauces, sides and packaging that operators need to build a chicken menu.

The range comprises around 50 lines, including 27 chicken products.

Booker has revamped the coated chicken range with crispier, crunchier homestyle coatings and improved flavours, as well as new Buttermilk and Salt & Pepper flavours. The coated lines can be hot-held for 30 minutes after frying.

At the heart of the burger offer are Chef’s Menu 125g Homestyle fillets in various coatings. These sit alongside new Katsu Breaded Chicken Fillets, Breaded Chicken Schnitzels and Chef’s Essentials Battered Chicken Fillets, plus improved American Style Chicken Fillets.

Meanwhile, new Homestyle Chicken Strips come in Breaded, Buttermilk and Hot & Spicy variants, alongside improved Small Southern Fried and Small Crispy Chicken Fillet Strips. Also available are new Salt & Pepper and Salt & Chilli Shredded Chicken. New wings products include Homestyle Breaded Chicken Wings and Homestyle Breaded Boneless Wings.

Also in the Chicken Kitchen range are new Chef’s Menu Scotch Bonnet Hot Honey and Mango Habanero sauces; Chef’s Premium Potato Buns and Chef’s Menu Seeded, Glazed and Slider Buns; and new Chef’s Menu Monterey Jack Slices and Cheese Burger Slices made with 60% cheddar.

The fresh range includes Chef’s Menu calibrated chicken breast fillets, with 110-130g fillets sized for a 4-inch bun and 150-170g fillets for a 5-inch bun. Chicken thighs, chicken thigh mince, diced chicken thigh meat and calibrated mid and prime chicken wings are also offered.

A frozen Chef’s Essentials range of mid and prime wings, two and three joint wings, drumsticks, oyster cut thighs and leg quarters forms part of the Chicken Kitchen offering.

Nev Irani, foodservice managing director at Booker, says: “Chicken presents a real opportunity for foodservice operators, and our new and improved chicken range will help them navigate the options, flavours and formats to create successful dishes and menu options to suit this dynamic market.

“We’ve gone back to the kitchen on our coated chicken to give operators a product their customers will notice, with a crunch that lasts, flavours that deliver and a 30-minute hot hold that keeps it at its best from fryer to front door. Pair that with our new sauces, buns and cheeses, and operators have everything they need to build a standout chicken menu.

“Chicken’s popularity is driven by its affordable price point, an influx of US high street chains, viral trends, delivery-friendly formats and the fact it lends itself to so many world flavours.”

He added: “The range reinforces our commitment to being a single-source partner, supplying versatile food formats alongside the accompanying buns, sides, sauces and condiments, takeaway packaging, and hygiene essentials needed to run an efficient kitchen.

“By delivering an easy-to-use range that meets market expectations of great choice, flavour, and consistent quality at competitive prices, we aim to empower foodservice operators, publicans, and restaurateurs to serve chicken confidently and grow their business sustainably.”
