Bidvest spends more time on outreach programme
Bidvest Foodservice last year doubled the amount of time spent on its community engagement outreach programme – 5,524 hours – supporting more than 1,200 charity events and groups.
The figures are disclosed in the company’s annual sustainability report.
One of the key link-ups was with One Water, the ethical bottled water brand that supports some of the world’s poorest countries. Bidvest, which started supporting this project nine years ago, in 2015/16 raised its sales of One Water by 136%.
Speaking about the partnership with One Water, Shirley Duncalf, the wholesaler’s head of sustainability, said: “Health and well-being, responsible consumption, ethical practices, sustainable communities and the desire to establish strong, meaningful partnerships are the foundation of our sustainability plan. Our work with One Water aligns perfectly with all of these goals.”
