Bidvest opens new Slough headquarters

Bidvest Foodservice has officially opened its new Slough headquarters, with 11 members of staff hauling an 18-tonne lorry across the tarmac.

The 117,000 sq ft site (including 80,000 sq ft depot) replaces the company’s previous HQ at High Wycombe, which it had occupied for 22 years, most of that time operating as 3663.

Bidvest Slough-for-websiteA total of 33 vehicles make deliveries from Slough. The business support centre houses the buying, marketing and supply chain team, who make up some of the 140 staff working there, compared with 72 at High Wycombe, where the depot size was 30,000 sq ft. The building also includes a presentation kitchen, vending machine area, mini store, coffee lounge, staff canteen and commercial kitchen.

Depot general manager John Woolford said: “As the UK’s leading foodservice provider, our mission is to deliver service excellence, make life easier and help our customers grow.

“Our new site in Slough (owned by property investor SEGRO) not only provides a fresh working environment, with ground-breaking industry technology where our employees can thrive, but it will also benefit our customers.

“Its location on the M4 corridor extends our reach in the southern region by putting us at the heart of the area we supply. It also marks our commitment to cutting food miles.”
