The forecourt group, which previously used Palmer and Harvey, is currently ranked seventh in the UK, operating 48 sites across England and Wales under the Park & Shop name.

Steve Caldecourt, the C&C/wholesaler’s head of multiple accounts, said: “Park Garage Group is one of the largest and most respected forecourt groups in the UK, and our agreement demonstrates the real progress Bestway is making in its multiple account division.”

Bestway Wholesale last year delivered goods to the value of more than £650 million to independent retailers. The multiple account division, which was established a year ago, has alone brought in business worth more than £75 million.

Although losing out on the PGG business, P&H has renewed its supply agreement with another petrol chain, MRH (GB), said to be the UK’s biggest forecourt operator with more than 450 sites, many of which trade under the Esso or BP name. The new contract, worth over £90 million annually, will run for five years, with P&H delivering a wide range of food, including chilled and frozen.

P&H managing director Martyn Ward said: “We are delighted to be announcing the five-year deal with MRH, building on our already successful distribution partnership.” The delivered wholesaler has a fleet of more than 1,300 vehicles.
