Martin Williams: ‘The need to work better together has never been greater.’

Martin Williams, managing director of Landmark, explained: “Given what is happening in the industry, driven by the multiples and the discounters, alongside the resulting opportunities for convenience and out-of-home, the need to work better together has never been greater.

“This year’s conference will explore why partnership working is so critical for success in all channels: retail, out-of-home and foodservice.”

More than 230 members and suppliers are expected to attend the conference, where they will hear from industry executives such as Paul Johnson, economist at the Institute for Fiscal Studies; James Bielby, chief executive of the Federation of Wholesale Distributors; Jill Livesey, managing director of him! Research and Consulting; and James Lowman, chief executive of the Association of Convenience Stores. Also on the rostrum will be representatives from several suppliers, including Nestlé and Philip Morris International, as well as key Landmark members and central office staff.

Guest speakers this year are former Newsnight anchor Jeremy Paxman and Great Britain’s most successful ever swimmer, Rebecca Adlington OBE.

The conference will combine formal business sessions and one-to-one meetings with a memorable social programme.
