United Wholesale Scotland invests in electric forklift trucks

United Wholesale Scotland (UWS) has invested in a new fleet of electric forklift trucks, which will enable the Glasgow-based wholesaler to reduce its carbon output by an estimated 55 tonnes per year.

“We’re thrilled to introduce sustainable transportation by replacing our old gas forklift trucks with state-of-the-art electric vehicles. With zero emissions and reduced noise pollution, we’re committed to creating a healthier environment for everyone involved,” said managing director Chris Gallacher.

UWS worked with Auditel, an organisation that helps businesses become carbon neutral, and forklift truck manufacturer Jungheinrich to introduce the new trucks. UWS’s head of operation Jason Butler, who led the project, said: “The new fleet looks brilliant and we now have a greener, safer and more efficient working environment. I was extremely proud to be involved in this project.”
