The Scottish Wholesale Association to share its vision

Colin Smith, chief executive of the Scottish Wholesale Association, is to share his strategic vision for the SWA with wholesalers and suppliers at a free event on 28 March.

Taking place at Hampden Park, Glasgow, the event is designed to bring Scotland’s wholesalers and their suppliers closer together, as well as giving them an insight into the SWA’s new principles of collaboration, consultation and communication.

During the morning session, subjects covered by the speakers will include a market research project being carried out on behalf of the SWA; the SWA Training Academy – creating a career path in wholesale; the SWA’s foodservice strategy group; and the SWA and the Scottish food tourism strategy.

In the afternoon, the wholesalers and suppliers will be hosted in four groups, with each group
participating in a different networking experience, designed to help members engage with one another and have input into the SWA vision.

Commenting on the event, Smith said: “Focusing on members, their employees and continually improving standards within the wholesale industry, this event will share with members the key areas of development and investment over the next three years. A business building session will also enable attendees to network with one another while giving valuable input into what they want from the Association over the coming years.”
