Sysco Speciality Group promotes seasonal British produce

Sysco Speciality Group has launched a comprehensive guide to promote British produce.

Understanding the increasing need to supply a greater seasonal British range, Sysco Speciality Group has produced the guide to inform its customers how buying British can help them not only with budgeting but also with environmental issues such as food miles, food provenance and animal welfare.

Sysco Speciality Group, which incorporates Fresh Direct, M&J, Fresh Fayre, Wild Harvest, KFF and Medina Foodservice, is focused on supplying a comprehensive range of seasonal British products and ingredients from specialist suppliers.

The seasonal range comes from more than 100 British producers, from growers to farmers, fishermen to dairy processors, bakers to local suppliers, allowing caterers to include the grower or farm location on their menu for a point of difference and extra provenance.

Whether it is the first cut of British asparagus, outdoor rhubarb, freshly dug Jersey Royals, or Kent strawberries in time for Wimbledon, Sysco Speciality Group brings new seasonal highlights and readily available ingredients each month through spring, summer and early autumn.

Partner suppliers all sign up to Sysco Speciality Group’s Supplier Charter which means that caterers can rest assured that all of its products come with a fully traceable supply chain. The group’s depots are BRC accredited, and it has one of the largest quality assurance teams in the industry to maintain stringent standards of food quality, safety, and consistency.
