Parfetts achieves record sales in September Savers Trade Week
Parfetts achieved record sales – £14.6 million – during the week ending 18 September.
The wholesaler ran a ‘September Savers Trade Week’, which saw sales hit a new high across its depot network. The Aintree depot was the best performing of the company’s seven branches, achieving sales of £3.5 million during the promotion.
Guy Swindell, joint managing director of Parfetts, commented: “We continue to invest back into the business to support retailers through this challenging economic period. Our promotions calendar continues to grow and means we see existing customers shopping with us more often while also attracting new customers to our retail club and fascia groups.
“Parfetts’ employee-owned structure means that it can respond quickly and flexibly to retailers’ needs. We’re working hard to ensure we protect and increase retailer margins at a time when they really need it, and we’re continuing to offer free delivery, free leaflet distribution and free marketing support.”
Parfetts is expanding its calendar of trading events with upcoming promotions including Halloween, The World Cup and Christmas.
In other news, a former church in Garston, Liverpool, has become one of the largest Go Local Extra stores in the UK.
Retailer Matt Mahalingam, who operates five other Go Local stores in Liverpool, has extended his relationship with Parfetts Go Local Extra with the opening of the new 3,000 sq ft store.
After acquiring the property from the Church of England earlier this year, he renovated the church to include Go Local Extra branding, extensive chiller units, a customer-friendly layout and spacious checkouts. The store includes a food-to-go offering and an large beers, wines and spirits section.
