One Stop unveils improved fresh range

One Stop – a subsidiary of Tesco – has extended its fresh food offering with its first range reset in over two years.

The convenience retailer has brought in a total of 108 new lines to its stores, 16 of which are own-label products.

One Stop’s product overhaul is a conscious response to the changing needs of today’s shoppers. Research pinpoints that customers are looking for fresher and healthier choices, enabling them to cook meals from scratch, alongside convenient solutions for busy families. One Stop’s fresh range reset is designed to cater to both ends of the spectrum, whilst offering a seamless shopping experience in-store.

Own-label fresh products now include leeks, parsnips, Pink Lady apples, grated mozzarella, fresh pickled beetroot and large flat mushrooms. There is also a new range of branded ready meals, including City Kitchen Chicken & Chorizo Paella 380g and City Kitchen Chicken Katsu Curry 380g.

One Stop customers will now be able to ‘eat seasonal’ by getting their hands on fruit and vegetables during the season they are grown. And with the festive season upon us, One Stop will be offering Christmas dinner trimmings such as pigs in blankets, sprouts and cabbage.

One Stop’s lunchtime meal deal also has some limited-edition Christmas favourites, including chicken, stuffing & cranberry sub and wrap. Furthermore, the meal deal has been enriched with a number of high-protein options including Taste Original Chicken Satay 40g, Protein Chocolate Drink 500ml and with Onken Naked Strawberry Yogurt Pouch 110g.

The retailer is now also ranging a variety of charcuterie products: Charcuti Sliced Chorizo 70g, Charcuti Sliced Pepperoni 90g, Charcuti German Salami 90g and a range of olives.

The retailer is dedicated to a more sustainable future and, as part of this effort, the new range features products with extended shelf lives, from 23 to 30 days. To further minimise food waste and eliminate products that no longer appeal to customers, it is also discontinuing 50 product lines.

One Stop has restructured its fresh food merchandising to ensure that customers can quickly find what they are looking for. Products that complement each other ‘for a perfect meal’ are now being conveniently displayed together.

Marianne Aitken, head of product at One Stop, commented: “We’re really excited to expand our fresh range and to be providing customers with more choice and affordability.

“Customers have been moving towards healthier choices and, as a responsible retailer, we want to provide these options.

“Whilst bringing in a new era of freshness, we’ve also had the opportunity to revise our meal solutions for busy customers. Options now include everything from prepped veg to delicious ready meals.

“We’ve also increased our Pizza Co range so customers can grab and go. Many items from the range are now in 690 stores – an increase of over 150 stores. This just shows how popular this choice is for our customers.”

The retailer’s franchisees will also have the option to opt in to the improved fresh range.
