New £1 million fleet for Appleby Westward

SPAR south-west wholesaler Appleby Westward is spending around £1 million replacing its fleet of nine 26-tonne DAF delivery vehicles.

The first three Prime Movers have arrived at the Saltash site, with the remaining six due by the end of July.

Appleby Westward logistics director Del Phillips said: “Fleet replacement is a huge financial investment for the company, with each vehicle valued at over £120,000. It will enhance the quality of our delivery to SPAR stores (280) throughout the south-west region.

“As well as improving our service levels, we are doing everything we can to protect the environment and reduce our carbon footprint.”
