Most successful trade exhibition for Filshill

Retailers from across Scotland and the north of England attended delivered wholesaler JW Filshill’s annual trade exhibition, held at Glasgow’s Hampden Park.

They took advantage of exclusive one-day offers, retail seminars, the chance to meet suppliers and sharing of ideas with other traders.

The show drew over 80 KeyStore retailers and 60 suppliers, many visiting for the first time. On-trade customers were also present.

Craig Brown, retail sales director of Glasgow-based Filshill, said: “This has been our most successful trade exhibition. We were delighted that so many saw the value in taking time out of their businesses to see what’s new, talk to our suppliers and spend time with other retailers.

“Events like this are important because they showcase what we’re doing, give retailers access to special offers not available at other times, but, crucially provide a platform for them to meet and network with new and existing contacts.

“For suppliers, the trade exhibition provided an opportunity to meet retailers they might not otherwise have the opportunity to engage with and build relationships.”

Lloyd Winterbottom, a KeyStore operator from West Yorkshire, said: “It was really useful to meet other KeyStore retailers and hear about some of the interesting concepts they’re developing in their premises. I also learnt more about the Filshill business and had a tour of the head office and depot.

“The support I get from the team based in the north of England has been invaluable.”

Speaking at the trade seminars were Tom Fender, MD of Paisley-based Bolt Learning, Gary Routledge, national business manager of JUUL Labs, who discussed the vaping category, and Steve Appolinari, sales director of Fife Creamery.
