Kellogg’s unveils ‘promotional bonanza’ as Team GB partner

Kellogg’s has been announced as the Official Team GB partner for the Rio Olympic Games 2016.

The sponsorship, which will be leveraged via significant promotional activity, gives Kellogg’s Team GB marketing rights across its brands from now until the end of next year.

The Team GB logo and a ‘Win Tickets to Rio’ flash will be emblazoned on 38 million packs, including 40g price-marked cans of Pringles (the first big promotion for the smaller cans), three cereal SKUs and a selection of single-serve snack bars such as Nutri-Grain, Coco Pops and Squares.

The company is also giving consumers the opportunity to win a VIP trip to Rio, worth £15,000, via a text-to-win mechanic. The competition, which runs from April until June, will reward five lucky consumers with five pairs of tickets to the Rio Olympics, including flights and a seven night stay in a 4* hotel. The prize fund also includes tickets to the closing ceremony, £1,000 spending money and a tour of the Team GB House and Athletes’ Village.

Nick Dawson, Kellogg’s sales director for specialty channels, comments: “We have category exclusivity in cereals, snacks and crisps, so no one else will be able to challenge for the gold medal this summer when it comes to sales. We’ve got great PoS, money-can’t-buy competitions and the tasty brands consumers trust.”
