GroceryAid ‘We’re Here’ campaign reaches 6.25 million people
More than 200 companies took part in GroceryAid Day on 2 March, and its ‘We’re Here’ 2021 campaign reached 6.25 million people.
Support and publicity was given in a variety of ways, from bake offs to head shaves, from motivational speakers to GroceryAid Day backgrounds for virtual team meetings.
Steve Barnes, GroceryAid chief executive, commented: “Thank you to the many organisations who supported GroceryAid Day this year, our annual ‘reach out’ to the industry to help us raise awareness.
“Thanks to the industry’s efforts, our welfare team is already seeing the impact, with potential beneficiaries making contact who had not heard about GroceryAid and the support available. We knew this year was going to be a challenging year for people to take part so what was achieved was simply incredible.”
GroceryAid has seen a steady increase in applications and calls to the helpline since the start of the year, from numbers that had already increased since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The GroceryAid Helpline, website and live chat is available for colleagues in the form of emotional, practical and financial support.
