Fairway Foodservice promotes Troy McKee to purchasing director

Fairway Foodservice has promoted Troy McKee to purchasing director.

Formerly purchasing manager, McKee (pictured) has been with Fairway for seven-and-a-half years. Prior to that, he worked for Country Range Group for 17 years, Today’s Group for two years, and Batleys for 13 years.

As purchasing director, McKee replaces Steve Jeavons, who has moved to another role – purchasing contracts manager.

McKee is joined at Fairway Foodservice by newly appointed purchasing manager Adam Williamson, who was formerly foodservice manager at Pacific West Foods.

“The expansion of the team is the first step in implementing our new purchasing structure and strategy, to bring members more support, guidance, and of course great products,” said McKee, whose promotion was announced at a recent Meet The Member (MTM) event, held by Fairway Foodservice at Eastwood Hall, Nottingham.

More than 150 people attended the two-day event, with 40 suppliers sharing new product innovations, trend insights and unique deals with Fairway’s members.

Fairway event organiser Richard Ellison said: “The Fairway MTM is a fantastic opportunity for our members to meet face to face with suppliers, take advantage of exclusive deals, and of course find out more about how Fairway can support them, too.”

New Fairway Foodservice member, Alex George, procurement manager at WestCountry Foods, added: “As a new Fairway member, this event was a great way for me to meet everyone. It’s a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere, which makes the whole experience more enjoyable.”

Long-term member Gareth Wilson, managing director of Miller Foodservice, added: “There’s always a real ‘family vibe’ at the Fairway events. They’re a great opportunity for everyone to get together, network and share ideas for future growth.”

In support of Fairway’s sustainability initiatives, food waste and hunger charity FareShare also attended the MTM, and at the end of the event, the Fairway team collected any leftover goods and ensured they were redistributed to frontline charities.
