Cadbury ‘opens the door’ to its largest-ever Christmas campaign

Mondelez International has set aside more than £10 million to launch its biggest-ever seasonal TV advertising campaign for Cadbury.

The creative, which premieres tomorrow (7 November), showcases a giant advent calendar which is formed from 24 Cadbury purple trucks – each of which represent a different door of the advent calendar.

The commercial will be brought to life throughout December when a fleet of Cadbury-branded trucks deliver ‘incredible surprises’ to a different location every day.

The campaign, which also includes a social media, PR, digital, radio, experiential and in-store activation programme, builds on the success of Cadbury’s inaugural Christmas advert in 2013, where a London street was fully covered in Cadbury wrapping paper.

This year, viewers will have a chance to see how the joy unfolds in the real world with 3 x 20 second spots capturing the moment the trucks arrive at their destinations. These will be available to view on TV, video on demand and online platforms from 5 December.
