Booker replaces Palmer and Harvey as Shell supplier

Booker, which is shortly expected to hear for certain that its bid to merge with Tesco has been given clearance by the Competition & Markets Authority, is one of a growing list of companies benefiting from the demise of Palmer and Harvey.

It has been awarded a three-year contract to replace P&H as distributor to around 500 forecourts operated by Shell.

Initially, the deal is being handled by Booker’s wholesale division but it will switch to the retail services side early in the new year.

Steve Fox, retail MD at Booker, said: “We are really excited about this new partnership. The whole team is looking forward to working with Shell to increase footfall, sales and profit for their stores.”

David Moss, general manager of Shell Retail UK, added: “We are very pleased to be working with Booker to ensure that there is a safe and reliable supply of products to our service stations.”
